That's great, you at best have an AR with a couple loaded mags, and maybe a sidearm. And let's give you a plate carrier because everyone has one these days.
You open fire on a group of 4 ICE agents. You get one clean by virtue of surprise, and a second one wounded. Two agents return fire, it's now two against one. You manage to retreat, luckily, and now there is a manhunt on. Every street in a 5 mile radius has checkpoints set up within an hour, every law enforcement officer in the state has dropped what they are doing and are coming to join the fun. You have one loaded mag left, are driving looking for a gap in the net, trying to reload a magazine, when a local patrol car spots you and calls it in.
The state has such an OVERWHELMING monopoly of violence, a literal army is ready at a moments notice to enforce that monopoly. Resistance to ICE and the looming fascist America involves first community organization. Food, child care, income support, bail and legal funds, rent support, all of that needs to be in place before large scale, deadly force action can be used against the state, because the moment we do, a war is on. And there will be no terms of surrender.
Yes, most of us can't be Chris Dorner, and it didn't work out well for him.
Good cause it'll create a domino effect in the rest of the country, it should escalate, cause you should draw a frickin line at nazis... ???
And yet there you are, typing away, instead of coming here and helping. It's easy to talk shit, not so much to do it. Particularly when it means giving up your own life in an ultimately meaningless gesture.
It's a lot less words to simply say. "I want to commit suicide by cop."
Correction, that person is calling on Americans to commit suicide by cop.
Enough people willing to do it at the same time and it would work. But the death toll would be higher than 9 11. Probably higher than Vietnam. I guess less than world war 1 for America.
Because ICE agents have the most guns behind them and they aren't really using them yet? We have a lot of advantages in nonviolent resistance, including local police being pretty neutral to even protecting protesters at times. The second it turns violent the advantage is theirs, and the cops will be all in on their side.
Anybody who goes Rambo on ICE fucks not just themselves. The blowback will come down just as hard on the communities they were supposedly trying to protect. For now the courts are restraining ICE and keeping most of Trump's attempts at military escalation off the streets.
Maybe yeah ... The art is to be resolute without weapons, strategic, smart, large-scale and unpredictable. National strikes, and creating or using a solidarity strike funds during the strike for alternative sources of income for ur neighbors and poor people and supporting organizations that work on democracy, I found protectdemocracy.org, supporting that is one of many good steps in the right direction, better than my crazy idea at least igues lmao
It seems like every week or so I hear of new ways people are coming up with to be a massive pain in the ass for ICE, and that is great. Peaceful resistance definitely doesn't have to be nice, and can be pretty effective. Here in Chicagoland ICE is pretty much locked out of private businesses, and everywhere they go they are being followed by mobs with whistles or cars honking horns. They have been pulling over "suspicious" vehicles (pure racial profiling) only to have other drivers jump out and tell the victims to shut the fuck up and not say a thing to further suspicion. Resistance is peaceful, but it's real.
Please keep sharing these stories.
It's so important that people realize they do have power and these Nazi fucks can be stopped.
Majority report and status coup have been doing great coverage of this stuff.
Unless you can keep a good resistance from enemy forces and not risk casualties, not worth it.
The other option is let this continue untill the midterm elections and vote? Okay a national strike could work better though but yeah untill then
think logically for a second, if your going to have armed resistance against an enemy force, you need to work in a group and organize. you can't master chief this and go guns-a-blazing because once your force makes a casualty on the enemy forces, there will be tighter security and they will be looking for you. When (not if anymore) the resistance of Americans who fight, it should be planned carefully with someone who knows what they are doing and most likely guerilla warfare tactics.
Trueeeeee still wtf
i know its fucked up man i agree.
