I detest these people and I understand calling out their hypocrisy. Is there anything to be said for not policing how a woman is supposed to grieve publicly though? There's plenty wrong about the shameless exploitation of Kirk's death, but something about the current narrative feels gross. Stooping to their level? I mean yeah, maybe you could infer their relationship was shallow and transactional, but like, is this really a gotcha moment that we care about?

When they go low, we go high didn't work so... Yeah it might be time to stoop to their level. Unless there's a better idea, that isn't taking the high road cause that doesn't work anymore.

I see your point alright, I can't say I've much heart to argue my point TBH. The village gossip vibe isn't for me but enjoy!

In principle, i agree with you.

You already feel tbe "but...." coming in.

But these people relish in hatred. If (more to the point, when) roles are reversed, this is what they do and they enjoy doing it. They laugh about the suffering of others, they make fun of the suffering of others.

I don't know this woman at all, I don't know her name, I don't know her views, thoughts, politics, or even what suffering she's going through

However, she is not only a Christian Republican tradwife, she is the Christian Republican tradwife of one of the lowest, most hateful figures out there. I think it's very fair to assume she is a horrible hateful person because of course she is: she is a Christian Republican. And the wife of one of the more hateful speakers out there.

I feel no pity for this woman, I do not believe anyone should have mercy for her, she wouldn't have it for us.

Yeah I get you, I think my discomfort is more of a general thing than this particular situation. I think it's like making fun of someone's physical features when someone nice may also have those features. Or like an effeminate male homophobe deserves to be mocked but you risk repeating things people who've been bullied for being effeminate have been hurt by. Maybe not a hill to die on but I try to avoid it myself.
