apparently the term "toxel" has been used for 4D but it refers to voxels with a time value and as a being-confused-by-4D-enjoyer I'm insulted whenever time is insinuated to be the 4th dimension
really what 4D games use is procedural generation and math. a fuck ton of math
Oh shit, I had forgotten about Miegakure. I think I just kind of assumed the project was dead, but it seems the patreon has an update from last month
I suppose in the same way that a voxel is a volumetric pixel, we could have a hypervolumetric pixel or hyxel. Although if 3D uses polygons, the 4D counterpart of that would presumably be polyhedrons
