keyboards are one thing; I've recently been wondering (and don't worry, I know how dumb this sounds) about the prospect of a gaming mouse with a finish reminiscent of something like the reach plasma rifle.
The covenant weapon textures in H:R are stunning, I would hope that the curved shapes of most mice would lend themselves well to that sort of aesthetic.
would be neat to feel that texture, that hexagonal pattern, neater still if the materials used could give off that same sort of metallic, pearlescent finish.
for context, a couple friends and I have sort of been inspired by the open source ploopy mouse. would love to make something in that vain, though wireless if at all possible.
A mettalic blue painted mouse with ghost hex patterns under a high gloss automotive grade clear coat sounds like something that would be perfect for a mouse. High gloss to make cleaning easy, of course.
we could take hints of the functional design from covenant tech like the weapons and vehicles and use lighting along the side as a battery level / DPI indicator with some RGB LEDs diffused under a translucent plastic ribbon (I'm still thinking of the type 25 here but there's several other examples too).
I need to try sketching this out at some point. A degree in industrial design and I've never really put that to use in a professional context 😓
