they've been a controversial company in the eyes of customers for (I want to say) at least a decade now, though I feel in some small way vindicated by deleting my ea account earlier this year.

It's upsetting to see them in such a sorry state today, not like they're without any technical merit; their frostbite engine is wildly performant for its presentation and capability.
