Did people not leave Twitter? Because all I see there now is droves of nazis and bots and many times nazi bots and rarely any other kind of voice, it’s hard for me to imagine this happened without some kind of mass exodus.

They didn't.

They just learned to filter the nazis out. They are still talking there, with their posts diluted and unrecoverable by untrained people.
