There are always provocateurs who want to give the police an excuse to crack down.

sounds like you don't actually understand how the police works. on an anarchist community no less

You might want to learn a bit of history.

Back in the day, the IWW had their own squads patrolling any march/demonstration. They were there to make sure no one threw a rock at a cop. Sometimes the trouble makers were locals who just wanted to bloody a cop and other times they were police stooges.

the IWW hasn't been relevant in a long time. if you wanna know how to approach the police look at a more modern movement like the BLM uprisings

ok, so the police use informants to make people incriminate themselves. what does that have to do with the mastodon post?

There are two kinds of people in the world. There some people who can draw inferences.

The police will crack down whether or not it's "justified"

If the people of the United States want to revoke the state's monopoly on violence, then it requires committing violence against the people who continue to enforce it.

I think you'll find that the most common criticism is that the protests didn't really have an actionable point... Or an audience with shame and a conscience.

trump not acting legally is 100% actionable. Its called impeachment. Congress not doing that is the reason for protests. This is not like the democrats negotiating for obama subsidies.
