Can someone please explain it to me?

It's referencing 2 things. First, it's referencing how kids often think that their home is like a prison, because they view their parents as being overbearing, suppressing their freedom of choice. Second, it's referencing stereotypical prison life, such as marking down the number of days on the wall, and fashioning shivs so you can shank people. More specifically, it references the prison movie Shawshank Redemption, which famously includes a scene where

the main character escapes from prison by digging a hole in his cell wall and hiding it behind a poster.
The poster in the comic is the actual poster used to advertise the referenced movie. The joke is that, while kids will usually say their house is like a prison and leave it at that, this kid is acting as if they're actually in prison.
