- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. - No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. I'm a firm believer that people don't deserve a lifetime of "Thank you for your service" for shooting some brown kids in the name of oil and getting revenge for daddy.
But you know what I will thank someone for? Standing up to fascism.
So all the folk around here (increasingly originating from the shitjustworks instance...) who feel the need to glaze anyone in a uniform and talk about how they can't resist orders because that would be illegal: Take some fucking notes. THIS is resistance. Not being grumpy while holding a populace at gunpoint.
Keep in mind most of the folks who signed up probably didn't expect to be sent to kill brown kids due to a bunch of government lies....If those same folks are the ones standing up to the fascists I'd suggest they have always tried to serve the country well
If they signed up any time after 2001 and didn't expect to kill brown kids: They are clearly too stupid to function in human society.
And... a lot of the late 90s homies should have known better considering EVERYONE talking about Desert Storm "not being finished"
So get the fuck out of here with that apologia.
My cousin was very dumb and signed up. The guilt killed him.
Sad tragedy, lack of support. My brother was lucky enough to get help from conscientious objection groups and get out before being haunted by the decision.
