Btw folks a question from someone who watches barely any anime. Probably about 10 shows. I hate anime humour, the comedy always destroys the mood of the show and I cant take it seriously anymore.

I liked berserk which was serious throughout, what great anime's are there that avoid any comedy?

Do Vinland saga or steins gate do it? I might start one of those

Steins;Gate gets quite dark and serious, but it starts out pretty goofy, so if you're trying to avoid comedy it would leave a pretty bad first impression. I don't think I would recommend pushing yourself through the earlier parts to get to the later parts either, because you do need a certain attachment to the characters to appreciate the latter.

Vinland Saga, from what you've written, seems more up your alley. In a similar vein (bloody serious historical fiction) I also recommend Orb.

Other than that, Pluto and Monster, both thrillers based on manga by Urasawa Naoki, are very straight-laced.

Great. Thanks for that

Steins;Gate has a particular kind of humor. My gut feeling is that if you're bothered by anime humor in general in other shows you probably won't like it, but I don't know your specific tastes.

That's disappointing. It generally sounded interesting but i dont want any humour at this point.

Thanks

I can't think of any other shows that deal with time travel off the top of my head, but if you want some more serious sci-fi flavored shows, maybe try Ghost in the Shell?

Alrighty thanks.

+1 for Vinland Saga

I am still going through Steins;Gate so I shall reserve judgement on it.

I think most of the anime in these lists would suit your taste (if you see comedy among an anime's genre, or it looks too cute / non-serious for you, skip it):

Here's a few war anime to save you a click:
