I remember when he did that Black Mirror interactive movie thing, and there was that really weird backlash about him for not being conventionally attractive?

Yeah people were like legit harassing him. Really fucking weird.
I guess that's the same reason that the Dahmer show did so well: they made their bleach blond weirdo kinda good looking.
That, and the general cultural impulse to find serial killers... hot?
Yeah but wasn't Dahmer known for being an attractive, charming dude?
I think that was Ted Bundy. Dahmer was more of an outcast, IIRC.
