Comic Books
A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.
Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.
There is only one rule:*
Comic Books is a no judgement zone.
You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.
If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.
* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(
I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

His comments were ~~generated~~ transcribed into text via a speech recognition AI.
For billboards and large posters, their art is scaled up via ~~generative~~ scaling AI (literally the same exact thing that generates the art he's talking about).
CGI effects in their movies? Generative AI
Masking when placing characters in different settings? Generative AI (though if they're using older versions of photo editing tools it could still be the old magic wand algorithm 🤷).
Removing stuff from a background after the art has been drawn? Generative AI.
Their grammar is going to get checked by generative AI. Whether it's emails or marketing or simple Word docs... They're all using generative AI now.
Their games and software will all be developed using generative AI (I guarantee it!).
Perhaps he should be a bit more specific? Or are they literally going to sequester their employees into caves to perform their work?
Generative AI is everywhere and in everything. It has been for over a decade! It predates "AI bros" and ChatGPT. The only difference is that in the past two years it's gotten some powerful new applications and a whole heck of a lot of marketing.
If you're thinking, "that's bullshit. This AI is different." You're wrong. OpenCV came out in the year 2000 (25 years ago!). Modern image generators are just image classifiers (like OpenCV) run in reverse (being trained with a whole lot more data and some newer developments in computer science algorithms). Also, GPUs finally have enough memory to pull it off.
Insert meme: "I'm using generative AI every day, right now?" "Always have been."
In case you don't get what I'm saying: "Generative AI" is way too ambitious a term. Be more specific!
Tldr
dude conflates every possible iteration of the term "generative AI" ina pedantic attembt to miss the point
