Truly I want someone to just use their second amendment right in response to something like this
It's coming. They're officallt trying to "declare war" on American cities. There is going to be violent backlash, and unfortunately that's exactly what they want.
Yeah, I kinda think they're trying to spark a civil war. They believe they will win and then they will "purge" everyone who opposes them.
Funny. I think the same thing would happen to MAGATs, Klanners, and the 1%.
As ever, I won't start the fight, but I intend to be the one who walks away from it. Preferably with other minorities.

No doubt about that. Unfortunately, I don't think we get a good choice.
I don't believe they think they'll win, but winning isn't the goal, doing irreparable damage to America is the point. The entire goal has always been to hurt America at the behest of foreign masters, the most effective way to do that is just to ignite the powder keg of political divide that already exist.

Peaceful protesting isn't going to do it, and good luck thinking elections are going to matter. Look what they're currently doing to the Democrat that just won the House seat. Refusing to swear them in.

I mean I don’t really know what other response one could give? “Let’s drum circle this bitch out?” The only other response I could imagine is a general strike, which I’m all for but doubt will happen

honestly yeah. stop working. sing and dance. it was basically what happened with the hippies. they did not go get jobs and do the stuff they were supposed to.
If things get worse slowly, people will continue to make excuses for why they can't. If things get worse quickly, the odds of a general strike increase as people get more desperate.
It doesn't matter at this point. We do nothing they complete their agenda. We do something maybe they use it as an excuse to expedite their agenda.
Which is exactly what I and many, many other people have been screaming for months and months. Every day you wait, it's a harder fight. So your choices are act now and suffer, or act later and suffer worse. Sucks, but that is your reality.

The thing about guns is that they have caused incredible harm, and a lot of people have looked at the statistics and realized that gun ownership makes their family less-safe. So most gun ownership is related to irrational fear or a heritage of gun culture. I'm in the latter group myself, and own dozens of firearms, but I've never been under the illusion that my gun ownership made me safer on average.
But these are not normal times, and I fear that many minorities and those on the political left may realize too late that guns can suddenly stop being evil when they become necessary. And I absolutely believe they'll be cracking down on gun ownership. If trans gun ownership isn't banned in a year I'll be shocked.
And I won't be surprised in the least if NICS checks for registered Democrats start getting funky. I don't think Patel's FBI will be dumb enough to deny all Democrats, but it would be very easy for them to put a delay flag on a check.
Under a delay the full check is pending and the firearm can't be sold for 3 days, after which it can proceed so long as a deny hasn't been returned. But most major retailers won't transfer on a delay until a proceed comes back, which can take as long as 6 weeks.
And since NICS checks are only valid for 30 days from the date the check begins, a delay that is returned as a proceed after 6 weeks isn't valid and can't be used to sell a firearm. But since it's a proceed there's no grounds to challenge it.
Not entirely true. Huge numbers of leftists own guns, it's mostly liberals/centrist that drank the gun prohibition koolaid. Look what it's got them? Cause it'll never happen here, remember? Oh, whoops. I see people realizing their mistake most quickly with black people; black panthers and other community defense groups in black neighborhoods have been making a come back. Pray more people get on the band wagon. And if you can't legally own guns, there are alternatives. Crossbows, compound bows, muzzle loaders. Being armed in some way is the best way to keep your communities safe from outside violence.
Also a lot of right wingers have way too many guns, and not in a oh it's a collection sort of way but in a why do you have 4 AR15s in 5.56 sort of way. It's not like they can use them all simultaneously so why have more than one standard rifle? Regardless my solution to getting a gun in the case of random violence is to find a Maga flag and wait until I see them with one, then I'm smacking them with a shovel, axe, or crowbar and jacking the firearm. Worst case scenario I get killed boohoo.

We can not survive fascism with 300 million individuals, we must ally and work together.
And I don't even mean like form a militia, I mean any group, whether that's mutual aid, a soup kitchen, a book club. Get to know your neighbors.
