There was a TV adaptation of The Secret World (MMORPG) planned but there has been no news on it for ages so I guess it has been shelved or dropped.
That and Defiance were trying to capitalize on this short-lived trend of cross-media projects. They failed because along the way of trying to make both a show and an MMO at the same time, they forgot to make either of them good.
Its been a while so I could be misremembering, but it seemed like they stopped the show Defiance in favor of the game. Like I think the game came out during or right before the last season.
The Secret World was a great game. Maybe not a great MMO, but for small groups it's one of the best ever made.
The show wasn't terrible, from memory.
