A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

With all the depressing shit in the news, I find myself listening to music while playing Vampire Survivors. It’s fun and lets me zone out. Any suggestions on similar games?

Free:

  • Disfigure: amazing aesthetic and sound effects, you can make some broken builds
  • Holocure: cute and fun, based on the Hololive vtubers but you don't have to know about them, the game is very fun by itself with a ton to unlock

Paid:

  • Soulstone Survivors: the scaling on this game is absurd, and how deep you can make builds taking into account the different statuses the skills inflict
  • Megabonk: recently released, it's like Risk of Rain, a bit hard for me but still super fun
  • Halls of Torment: reminds me of Diablo 2, with pixelated 3d visuals, has a slower meta progression
