So it took that dumb fuck 9 months to realize that Putin's the bad guy, Ukraine isn't to blame for being invaded and that Western support could win this war?

Imagine how many lives would have been saved if he'd just listened to every goddamn adult in the previous administration.

You're operating under the assumption that Trump's changed his mind.

When it is far more likely that he's recently just read that on a slip of paper (and probably misunderstood it), so it's just the crap on the top of the stack of crap in his mind and it pops off first.

Some poor bastard had to setup a presentation designed to keep 4 yr olds paying attention and adapt it to trump's narcissist. "Sir, Ukraine is getting stronger, getting more money, and WILL win. Russia is low rent, weak and broke. LOSERS! Back Ukraine and you will not only WIN bigly, but will be known forever as the man who singlehandedly ended this war and saved Europe.

And this would 100% work. On a supposed world leader. 🫠

I think it took 9 months for Putin's checks to stop clearing.

Putin used to pay trump when he helped to launder money. Now he uses the fact that Trump helped him launder money as blackmail.

Honestly, I don't think him making this public would damage Trump at all. The people who would care are already angry about a million other things.

Pretty sure he could say that he knew Putin put the effort forward to get him elected in 2016 because he would be a better help to Russia and would hurt relations with the west and a lot of people would immediately say it was the right thing to do just because he did it.

Maybe they've realized both that and that he doesn't need Putin's money anymore.

Between the two, Putin can now go fuck himself. Trump isn't loyal to anyone and never pays his debts.

When you rake in a few billion off of a state-sponsored crypto scam, apparently you can be financially independent.

Putin's made it clear that Trump doesn't call the shots in their relationship. Trump's ego can't handle that, so now Putin is his enemy. We've been seeing Trump slowly figure this out over the course of the year, starting from him saying he could end the war in, what did he say, a week? He clearly wasn't let in on the invasion plan, either because he can't keep his mouth shut or because Putin thought the war would be over before the election.

Of course, with how senile he's becoming and his probable recent stroke, it's unclear if this will stick or he'll forget about it in a day or two.

what did he say, a week?

24 hours.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

He'll charge his mind by the end of the week

Trump is starting to realize that his great personal relationship with Putin doesn’t help at all.
