So they want to cover up the truth that people in the US lobbied the whole world to not to take the Jews in leading to the final solution. Don't forget providing material support to the Nazi and IBM lending the computer power to make the final solution a reality.

Does it remind you of another genocide taking place that wouldn't be happening without the support and help from the US government and their corporations?

It is almost like we were never the good guys and WWII was just one fascist nation cleaning up another fascist nation's mess.

The US didn't "clean up" in WWII. The red army won that war. The US just pretends it did, like it always fucking does.

Fair enough, the US certainly likes to take credit and then dodge accountability.

I was with you up until the end there.

It is okay, a lot of people cannot accept the truth that the US has been a fascist nation for a long time. Depending on how you interpret the revolutionary war it was always a proto-fascist nation.

According to Umberto Eco's requirements, the US was Ur-Fascist for quite some time. I tend to agree with that.

Now, however, we're full on fascist for sure. Also, Holocaust aside, Hitler and his allies were obviously in the wrong. Like you can't be OK with them occupying half of Europe.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Mm. Well, gonna disagree, but that’s okay! We agree the fascism openly being practiced today is abhorrent and must be obliterated.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You can of course disagree. But I would like to ask your opinion of the US toppling countless democracies to install fascist dictatorships during the Cold War. This is just one of many examples that highlight all is not what it seems.

“Countless” is a bit of a stretch, and really isn’t until the 1900s but yes in general that's some imperialistic bullshit. Things that were kept from everyone for decades because they wouldn’t have been able to do it if it was out in the open. (Now is a very different time that has taken them decades and trillions of dollars to manufacture.) A closer look at any of those operations will reveal the usual suspects of militarism, racism, and enormous oceans of money. Those persons did not make up the whole of the country, then or now.

[–] LePoisson@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wow, you wrote a lot of words to agree with the person you're saying you disagree with.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah that's how discussion works.

Snarky asshole retorts are in the next thread down.

Fair enough and I agree that not all people in the US are wealthy militaristic authoritarian racists (aka fascists). Just those in charge I suppose.

They think if everyone just agrees with them, that in and of itself presents a solution. That's their schtick. They said they don't believe the United States is becoming more fascist -- I'll assume because it's already fully institutionalized. They'll point out problems and never solutions because they offer nothing of substance. It's just a child-like mind with access to an LLM. Their post history should reveal everything you need to know.
