That's my question too. Hitler shot himself in a bunker. Fascist governments don't often work out for themselves. What's the end game for Trump here?

What do they care about their eventual, shitty diaper encased end if they can wield the power and be looked at as a god by their cult?
Except this comic talks about being a ruler for decades. Trump is going to die in November.
What happens to trump and what he thinks are two very different things, yes, but it's more about the motivation explanation.
Hitler was in his 40s when he became dictator. He had 12 years as ruler. I wonder if trump thinks that if he could get 12 years as dictator then it won't matter if he has to shoot himself because he'll be in his 90s.
The strategy here is start later in life... biology moves faster than the law or politics.
