I think they mean it's a cop out for people to say "parents need to parent" as a solution. The solution is "society needs to provide more support to parents." Parenting your kids was a lot more possible when one income covered the fiscal needs of the household.
This is it. Parent your kids is a cop out statement.
Don't have kids if you can't raise them well. Also, less slaves to feed into the machine.
That's a cop out.
A cop out is when an adult skirts responsibility by saying "society is fucked, how could I ever be responsible for taking real care of my own chuldren??". Again. If you can't, use protection, don't have kids. Society is fucked, yes, but adults must be responsible.
A cop out is insisting parents know all and do all alone while they live in this big society even though we all know it's impossible.
A lot harder to agree with this statement when the abortion laws have regressed so much so recently.
Accidents can happen, but if you use two contraceptive methods in tandem, it severely reduces the risk of pregnancy. It's not impossible, it just needs one to be a responsible adult. And, obviously, we should be more vocal about sex education.
I hear you, And heck even pull out is pretty effective. Mix that with one actual contraceptive and you're basically golden. Unintended pregnancies aren't that hard to avoid.
I still think your comment sucks. Basically implies poor people don't deserve to have children, and the literal driving force of our species should be reserved as a luxury for people who can afford to have one adult not work.
