Honestly, I question whether it is ever deserved. However, Charlie Kirk advocated for it, so I'm not exactly upset.
It's worth it to look in to the tolerance Paradoxon.
Basically, intolerance can not be tolerated.
Its the whole reason violence has become acceptable. Society's duty is to ostracize and make those who espouse hate and violence, feel unwelcome. Yet society rewards those people. When peaceful change becomes impossible. Violent change becomes inevitable.
I'm not sure who you're referencing now with the Paradoxon. But yeah, we (as in humans) tolerated too much hate and this is what we get.
And I was referring to whether it is ever deserved because regarding this, well, yes.
Just society and humans. We have failed basic due diligence to tolerance consistently and often.
Right, he may have not deserved it, but he actively campaigned on the idea that deaths like his were acceptable losses.
Exactly - he would have wanted it this way.
It's more he would be ok with it this way. I doubt he wanted to die. But he would have been entirely accepting of how he died.
I mean, sure, when he said that gun deaths were necessary, I'm sure in his swollen head he was imagining it would be brown people and children taking the bullets instead, but it's just plain nice that he got what he asked for.
Tell me whyyyyyy!
He deserved it, but in the way Tolkien described those deserving death.
