General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

"let's put aside party differences and condemn Elon Musk" - your bar for "plans to save national security" is pretty low.

"achievement they could never really hope to achieve." What exactly is the achievement here? Sending an email? I've sent many emails.

"because I doubt anyone (else) would find bizarre flaws to pick at" it's almost as if it were a joke that was typed up in a few seconds ( which admittedly appears to have missed the mark). It's honestly boggling it's triggered so many people.

Tell me, if a waiter rocked up to your table with a bowl of soup you'd never cooked before and there was a small but obvious bit of human fecal matter on the rim of the bowl; would you just eat the soup on the basis that you'd never made that soup before, therefore you're not qualified to comment on the shit?
