I like to shit on american lack of geography knowledge myself, but let's be honest: nobody can be expected to know smaller cities and rivers on the other side of the globe. This map is for the news articles reading: "Red army crossed the Oder river and liberated Görlitz", not for "Germany invaded France"

Edit: okay after checking, Görlitz isn't even on the map XD, then take Breslaw
