Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered a heated response to the news that the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia had officially recognized the state of Palestine.

“I have a clear message to those leaders who recognize a Palestinian state after the terrible massacre on October 7: you are giving a huge reward to terrorism,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “And I have another message for you: it will not happen. A Palestinian state will not be established west of the Jordan River.”

“And I have another message for you: it will not happen. A Palestinian state will not be established west of the Jordan River.”

Okay, now that he says this in English to our faces, can we stop talking about Israel's cooperation in a two-state solution?

[–] 3abas@lemmy.world 74 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He's been saying it in English for decades, publicly for over two years, and everyone still pretending like a two state solution is anything.

None of us are free until Palestine is free, from the river to the sea.

We need to be a bit careful with "from the river to the sea" as to many in Israel, that is a call for Israel's destruction.

It's not Israel or Palestine that can exist. We want them both to exist, in peace. Angry at Israel's genocide though we all are, few are calling for Israel to cease to exist. That's what Israel is doing to Palestine.

israel should not exist just like how nazi germany does not exist anymore.

[–] jabjoe@feddit.uk 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Germany existed before and after the Nazis. Israel wasn't always ruled by extremists and should be there when they are gone.

It's a shame Palestine and Israel are divided by religion, but as an atheist, maybe I'm not going to get it.

"nazi germany" does not exist anymore and is a different country from "Germany" (notice the lack of nazi in the name). israel was founded by terrorists and has always been ruled by extremists who wanted to create lebensraum for their genocidal ethnostate utopia. Palestine and israel are not divided by religion. Jews, Christians, and Muslims lived together in Palestine long before the bloody concept of israel was conceived.

Solution: convince Trump to unilaterally rename the Jordan the “Charlie Kirk Memorial River”, and then the West Bank will no longer be west of the Jordan.

The monkey’s paw curls.

We now have a one-state solution where every citizen regardless of origin has full legal rights, stolen land and houses have been returned, the renamed towns have been reassigned their original names, and a sizable proportion of colonists have willingly chosen to leave because they were only ever interested in being the protected class in an apartheid society. Robust border infrastructure has been rebuilt to Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt, with a direct maglev like from Al Quds to every major nearby city. The world rightly recognizes the crimes that have occurred west of the river and the Nakba now sits in the global public consciousness in the same place as Rhodesia and the Nazi Holocaust.

The catch? The country cannot be named Palestine. It has the be named Donald J Trump (PBUH) Presents: The Miraculous Peace in our Time West of the River of America Thank You For Your Attention To This Matter, Buy Gold and War Bonds

Too optimistic huh. We are allowed to dream

Who’s talking about that anywhere?
