I live in Oklahoma and what they are doing with the public school system is terrifying. Our kids are already at a disadvantage and now they are adding Christian bs and getting rid of books. The next generation of kids to come out of Oklahomas public schools are going to be indoctrinated on a terrifying level

its actually pretty bad now, posts from r/teacher piqued my interest. and its mostly the teacher saying students are reading at a 1-6 grade level in HS, reading comprehension is very kindergarden at their age, plus writing paragraphs and essays, forget it. also writing, pronouncing is another matter. Math is also pretty poor in these students too.(COVID did kinda make it worst). grammar and paper writing is way above thier "knowledge"
