Hmm, I wonder if we could draw a parallel to a similar regime in the past that imprisoned various undesirables in illegal prisons, from which the prisoners never got out and were never seen again...

Oh, sure, the boarding school system that murdered hundreds of native children seized by this same govt, as well as the Canadian one. I mean, you can also look to big efforts like Germany, but don't forget a lot of that was inspired by the US and our evil methods of legally dehumanizing people.
