So they've now gotten rid of Colbert and Kimmel, 2 of the most brutally honest guys going after trump. Interesting.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And all the cocksuckers in the comment section saying "fwee speech has conseqwences uwu" deserve to be duct taped into a porta potty and set ablaze.

Y'all should have known better than to say something so trite and fascism adjacent.

That you're surprised it's being weaponized against you in turn is goddamn laughable, but you wanted your dumb little slogan that tried to explain a complex topic as stupidly as possible.

Like just think for one goddamn second about how fascists are going to use the literal fucking meaning of your phrase.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

What is "my phrase" of which you speak?

Maybe you should try fucking thinking about the context of this conversation.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Or, and this is obviously a deep ask here, you could explain what the fuck you're on about.

Explain yourself, or fuck off.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 0 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Read your original comment to see what phrase I could possibly be referring to.

It's not that hard.

Gonna come in hot with accusations and mud slinging, then when called in it, you just downvote and slink away.

Stay classy, SlugTypeMollusk

No. I failed Mind Reading at Hogwarts; I'm not picking thru anything in an attempt to interpret whatever your issue was. Come on out like a big kid. Explain your issue. I shall engage further if you can explain where you're coming from.

What.

Fuck.

Sooo... I'm guessing the complaints are coming from people who didn't watch it? Because I can't put my finger on anything that was horrible or false or anything.

[–] mitch@piefed.mitch.science 55 points 1 week ago

I'm confident they were just looking for a reason after Colbert. Seth Meyers better use his last few weeks before he gets pinched to come up with a contingency plan, cus this is a fucking crackdown.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

My guess is that the right wing propaganda machine to hide the epstein connections, doesn't want it shown that trump takes kirk lightly and doesn't give a shit about his death. It's hard to keep it going if dear leader doesn't even care.

[–] ohlaph@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

But the trucks...

Both Taco and his cult are whiny little bitches.

July 2025 Paramount/CBS agreed to pay $16 million to trump over a 60 Minutes lawsuit, then announced The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is being cancelled.

July 2025 PBS and NPR were federally defunded in a Congressional tribute to trump.

December 2024 Disney/ABC agreed to pay $15 million to trump over a defamation lawsuit, then in September 2025 cancelled Jimmy Kimmel Live.

September 2025 New York Times, Penguin Books, several authors are now being sued by trump for $15 billion because, still, that 60 Minutes segment.

Just a reminder: No Kings

Hey do you mind if we try an alternate timeline for a few days

Or, you know, however long humanity has left?

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I've been saying that the billionaires and oligarchs — who own the majority of the S&P500 and political class — WANT fascism for the last 2 decades. They are behind it's political resurgence, globally; most have already publicly stated things that prove they are authoritarian sociopaths (Musk, Thiel, the Koch's, Ellison, Zuck, etc).

This explains why Trump has never seen the invite or a prison cell, despite 100 clear as day felonies, why the Dem establishment has never done more than performative resistance, etc.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They always do. When capitalism starts to falter and the public opinion starts to turn on the system the ownership class goes right to fascism to crush the population.

[–] TargaryenTKE@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'd argue that for at least half of them, capitalism is just a stepping stone to their true goals. They didn't opportunistically become fascist; they've always been that way

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

This is why they got rid of him. WTF there was nothing bad I guess making daddy Trump look bad is against the law.
