This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

4. Only post about stuff related to perchance.

  • Please only post about perchance related stuff like generators on it, bugs, and the site.

5. Refrain from requesting Prompts for the AI Tools.

  • We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"
  • See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
  • You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
  • We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

A user said: on my phone nobody can see me, on my desktop they can. Okay sounds like same old thing, different network different tags. Oh no they actually have the same tag on both devices!! [XUG8-978834938c762482f988]. Now what's going on with bugs after bugs in chat moderation??? If it bans a lot innocent regular users then it's totally worthless. Like, we could and could only delete every single message and dare not ban anymore because why waste time to debug later???

  1. Yes it's resolved.
  2. Yes the cause might just as what you said and we are already aware of that, but.
  3. ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️!!! The user has same tag on mobile and desktop, one is banned, one is not. [Same tag] mobile → banned [Same tag] desktop → not banned

The fact the mobile got unbanned by unbanned another ID provea it's a moderation issues. The fact the user has exactly same tag but this still happening is the mystery to us.

Also while the aliases is easy understanding. Another issue is both banned and revolved innocent account are aged, eg troll alias banned 3 month ago, innocent user came one moth ago without ID tag changing. In some cases not this one, one day in recent they suddenly got banned because of aliases.!!! Why it's not happening when they came here one month ago??

The user has same tag on mobile and desktop, one is banned, one is not.

The system is simply detecting that their mobile device was previously using a tag that you banned. You should unban that other tag, and then their mobile device will not be banned anymore.

The system works this way because otherwise people can evade bans by switching IP addresses, which is bad.
