It’s too early to tell his current political affiliation or motivation. The right is saying he was dating his trans roommate and pissed at Kirk’s anti-trans stance. The left is saying he was so far right that he believed Kirk was too liberal. Everything is speculation. The only people with thorough knowledge of his motives are the investigators.
I think you give to much credit to the investigators. Most of the decent ones got fired and this episode shows that competence isn't their greatest asset.
Two things can be true though. The investigators might not be competent but they still have more knowledge on the motives than random people online who seem to only be parroting the information that they've read and agree with.
The fact that those same investigators are claiming the guy who turned himself in is being uncooperative seems to indicate he's not letting them slap a left wing ideology into his right wing groyper shit

No that much isn’t clear. For Christ sake this is no better than what goes on on r/conservative.
We do not know. He might have rebelled from his family for all we know. He might be indifferent to both sides and think we’re both divisive and he might have killed Hasan just as easily.
It’s probable that it’s more someone on the right but we don’t clearly know anything and anybody saying they do is either biased or just looking to blame the other side and not actually find out the truth.
