So I'm lead to believe that is not accurate.

This photo is currently housed in the Walthers Collection, there (NSFW images on link) they attribute it as:

Unidentified photographer, [Stereoviews], ca. 1910–20

I'm going to put more stock in a world renowned gallery and experts research over a reverse Google image search.

No that's literally what they are doing. But on an ediphone not a gramophone. That upright cylinder is a wax tube storage box, I have several. The horizonal cylinder is literally on an ediphone.
