I tried, he just sent me links to Fox News and twitter posts, nothing reliable or substantial... When I tried looking it up on my own I found New York Post drivel

So your friend is just repeating 'drivel" then ? I'm surprised he didn't tell you to do your own due diligence. I bet he won't be graceful if you call him out on it, but I think you should tbh.
