Here in Canada freedom of speech ends when it becomes hate speech.
This is MASSIVELY problematic in that I do think this will become a slippery slope in time, but currently it does protect from a lot of hateful shit that people would otherwise build a platform on.
It's imperfect and I'll eat my fucking shirt if it isn't abused one day to oppress people, but it kind of works for now.
I mean, it doesn't really have to be a slippery slope? Hate speech can have very clear and concrete decisions. I think we can all agree that any group that is calling for the mass extermination of people based upon race or sexuality is bad and should be censored.
