Are you speaking from personal experience of a position of confidence or are you basing 50% on stats I can look up from a reasonably well researched source?

Either way, I'm not trying to downplay how bad the situation is, but 50% is fucking terrifying if even remotely true. Those seem like numbers from pathologically religious cultures, but even if you're averaging numbers from across the planet - that's still horrifying.

Even if it was, keep in mind that by the age of 30, the average woman has met thousands and thousands of men, and if only one of them has ever done anything like that, than the 'has been raped at least once' condition has been satisfied, even with a percentage of men doing it far, far below 1%.

That's why statements like these are misleading, and practically useless—you can't draw any real conclusions from something like that.

Not to mention that the CDC found that women rape men at the same rate as men rape women, it's just not 'counted' because feminists like Mary Koss have successfully lobbied/convinced to have 'woman has sexual relations with man against his will' put in a separate category from rape, "made to penetrate", which conveniently leaves male victims of female rapists out of rape statistics:

And now the real surprise: when asked about experiences in the last 12 months, men reported being “made to penetrate”—either by physical force or due to intoxication—at virtually the same rates as women reported rape (both 1.1 percent in 2010, and 1.7 and 1.6 respectively in 2011).

from religious

No. Patriarchal religions id expect the number is closer to 100%, but can't say from my own experience.

terrifying

Yep. And if you look at the respknses here, its just safer to assume men are all rapists. None are worth that coin flip, even if that were the only risk.

Why do I get the feeling you would take offense to someone using this exact same line of thinking to assume criminality of black people, based on crime statistics, and suddenly understand the deep flaws of this kind of reasoning, once the target isn't a demographic you're already biased against?
