How did it go? Where are you now? I beat him without dash but there is absolutely no reason to do so.

I made it into the deep docks after dying a ton of times. Had to rebind my keyboard (WASD instead of arrows, shift to dash etc) and relearn all that, now ~~I'm up against Lace~~ I beat her! Guess I have to save up 500 beads for the padlock key while I explore the next areas
