They targeted brands.

Brands.

A group of people who will sit for hours, days, even weeks on end performing some of the hardest, most soulless penny-pinching. Over, and over, and over all for nothing more than a .0001% increase in revenue for their shareholders and a greasy sales exec saying they did.

They'll punish their workers making them do things others would consider torture, because they think it's profitable.

They'll spend most if not all of their free time min maxing the stats of a fictional spreadsheet all to draw out a single extra penny of revenue per quarter.

Many of their co-conspirators have made careers out of doing just these things: slogging through the grind, all day, the same tasks over and over, hundreds of times to the point where we know evety little detail such that some consumers have attained such brand loualty that they literally integrate ads and corporate slogans into their daily conversations or everyday fashions, completely unprompted!

Do these people have any idea how many targets have been smashed, markets oversaturated, families and communities destroyed in frustration? All to latter be referred to as bragging rights?

These people honestly think this is a battle they can win? They take our shares? We're already falsifying new ones without them. They take our exploitation? Brands aren't shy about outsourcing the suffering else where, or even making the domestic prices for up themselves. They think calling brands racist, mysoginistic, rape apologists is going to change them? They've been called worse things by prepubescent 10 year olds with a shitty head set. They picked a fight against a group that's already grown desensitized to their strategies and methods. Who enjoy the battle of attrition they've been threatened with. Who take it as a challenge when they are told that humans should be treated with dignity and that regulations matter. Brands' obsession with proving they can after being told they can't is so deeply ingrained from years of dealing with big brothers/sisters and friends laughing at how pathetic they used to be that tax evasion, fraud, and twisting the whole fabric of society to favor them has become a very real need; a honed reflex.

(Lazily adapted from the "they targeted gamers" copypasta)
