Usually, this type of thing is used to deny the severity of the climate crisis. "There always been people who think they're living in the end times!" We have the data. This isn't wild speculation or belief in the supernatural. The effects will be catastrophic no matter what at this point, and it only worsens each day the machine chugs along.

Yes, but also, even if all the people die, Earth will continue chugging along. Nothing we can do will destroy ALL life. We’ll just be another extinction event in history.

There are bacteria living miles down in the rock below our feet. We can’t do shit to stop life from finding a way.

The last time the temps rose like this, 90% OF ALL LIFE died. And that took place over like 20,000 years or something. We are on track to match that or more in a few hundred. I cannot over state the difference with regards to the survivability of species. We absolutely could reduce this planet to microbial life.
