Idk last time somebody tried to do that it didn't go well.
rome was never that glorious, either. it was a stratified class based society that was maintained through violence. the reason trying to restore it has always gone poorly is that resisting the authority of rome was part of the experience outside the city of rome throughout the entire history of rome.
Not really? One of the remarkable pieces of the history of the Roman Empire is that, with only a few exceptions (Iudea being most notable), Roman rule was overwhelmingly accepted and internalized as a good thing amongst the provinces.
