If only they kept to their original promise of supporting uBlock Origin indefinitely (they later switch their position to only support all v2 extensions until June 2025 using
ExtensionManifestV2Availabilityflag) . It's mandatory in today's internet and without it Vivaldi browser is a non-starter no matter how many other good features they have or positive stances they take.On Vivaldi, I only use the built in filtering. Is that not good enough? I’m able to block everything I was using ublock origin for. I also block ads at the DNS level.
It can block some ads/trackers, but it's very limited in what it can do. It also lacks all other privacy-preserving features that uBlock Origin offers.
Last time I used Vivaldi (early 2025), with the same blocklists setup, it only blocked ~40% of what uBlock Origin did.
