Been out today and immediately noticed our local mini roundabouts with red crosses painted on them and nearly every motorway bridge with either a union flag or a flag of St George fixed them. It's like they've just appeared overnight? What's suddenly brought this on?

It's in protest about migrant hotels and just general racism but it's been painted as being patriotic due to the Lionesses victory against Spain earlier this month.

Lots of lampposts in towns have them, the white rectangles of zebra crossings have been painted with red crosses, same with some mini roundabouts.

Councils are leaving them up because there's been reports of the contractors they've hired to take them down have been assaulted.
