PVCs, heavy metals, a range of things one wouldn't want in one's body can come from hoses, especially if the hose and water are hot from the sun. At least let the water run till it's cool before drinking.

Who the hell is putting PVCs and heavy metals in hoses when they are made in the first place? But to answer your question, little kids or adults who don't know any better, and are thirsty, perhaps.

Ha! It's the accidental first splash when you forget the hose has been sitting in the sun all morning. I'm pretty sure I learned my life lesson with just one mouthful of solar hose hell water.
