They said Federal Funding made up less than 5% of their funding though? 🤔

But now they don't have a locked-in source of income anymore. In a bad fundraising year, they used to be able to lean on that cushion of guaranteed funding to help pay loans, fees, employees, etc. They no longer have that guarantee, so now they'll need to plan for bad fundraising years by reducing spending by more than what they lost. There's not some conspiracy, they're just trying to keep PBS around.

I live in the Rio Grande Valley.

The RGV is really spread out and people commute a lot, so a lot of people get their news from the radio on the drive to work. We lost our NPR affiliate station a few years back.

And all that's left is alt-right grievance screaming. You can see the results.
