I never tell people to switch to anything from their current OS. I only recommend them to use things when they express discomfort or say they're fed up with their current OS. That's the time to strike. If you tell people to switch from something they're fine with... Nah. Going nowhere with that.

This is my approach with veganism in an individual interpersonal context.

Doesn't mean we still can't advocate for our positions though in general contexts.

Precisely this, but I find people get fed up with their operating system quite often, so in fact, I tell people that linux would solve that problem, quite often...

And they still don't want to hear it. They don't want to know they can abandon their shackles and control their own destiny at any time they wish, they're too busy asking the people who shackled them "pretty please" to notice their friends escaping on our own. And evidentially being mad at those who escaped themselves for offering to show them how, according to this post.
