forced down our throat by being cast in every single movie that's released

This is just one of the dumbest things I've ever read. The man's only been in 14 movies over the past 5 years. Something like 1500 major studio productions were released over that time. Why do you keep choosing to shove Pedro Pascal down your own throat?

It seems like he's in a lot of things, because the things he appears in tend to be good, and he's good in them.

I saw the same complaint about Rami Malek a while back, and his imdb profile is relatively sparse for a two-decade acting career. He just happens to be memorable.

I've heard the same said about John Malkovich, even though he's hardly in anything really. But when he is in a movie it's always good.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

I loved him in that movie where he played a jewel thief.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The average count of John Malkoviches per movie poster was quite high in the late 90s...

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Being John Malkovich is an outlier and should not have been counted.

The whole meta because he was in so many movies makes it required to be on the list, imo.

If this was Reddit 6 years ago, I’d give you a star. ⭐️

Huh, when you put it that way it sounds like a lot - three films a year ~~for a decade and a half~~, plus the Mandalorian, etc.

As with almost everything, I reckon the truth is in the middle - that there's a tribal backlash by those that consider "woke" a slur, and it's being amplified by those who are genuinely overexposed to him.

[–] Brekky@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Decade and a half? You mean half a decade?

[–] Deebster 2 points 1 day ago

Oops, no idea where that came from, unless the 1500 films bit confused my subconscious.

[–] jatone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sounds like you seek out his content to be honest.

[–] Deebster 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think you have me confused with a different poster. (I just checked and I've seen him in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Gladiator II and Mandalorian)

[–] jatone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

indeed you are correct. i swear lemmy has a off by one bug or something in comment replies lol. apologies for the noise.

A decade is 10 years, he only really arrived on the scene 5 years ago, where's the other 15 years coming from?

Your maths is as bad as mine - a decade and a half is 15 years, so I added 10 not 15.
