This is just one of the dumbest things I've ever read. The man's only been in 14 movies over the past 5 years. Something like 1500 major studio productions were released over that time. Why do you keep choosing to shove Pedro Pascal down your own throat?
It seems like he's in a lot of things, because the things he appears in tend to be good, and he's good in them.
I saw the same complaint about Rami Malek a while back, and his imdb profile is relatively sparse for a two-decade acting career. He just happens to be memorable.
I've heard the same said about John Malkovich, even though he's hardly in anything really. But when he is in a movie it's always good.
I loved him in that movie where he played a jewel thief.
The average count of John Malkoviches per movie poster was quite high in the late 90s...
Being John Malkovich is an outlier and should not have been counted.
The whole meta because he was in so many movies makes it required to be on the list, imo.

If this was Reddit 6 years ago, I’d give you a star. ⭐️
Huh, when you put it that way it sounds like a lot - three films a year ~~for a decade and a half~~, plus the Mandalorian, etc.
As with almost everything, I reckon the truth is in the middle - that there's a tribal backlash by those that consider "woke" a slur, and it's being amplified by those who are genuinely overexposed to him.
Decade and a half? You mean half a decade?
Oops, no idea where that came from, unless the 1500 films bit confused my subconscious.
Sounds like you seek out his content to be honest.
I think you have me confused with a different poster. (I just checked and I've seen him in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Gladiator II and Mandalorian)
indeed you are correct. i swear lemmy has a off by one bug or something in comment replies lol. apologies for the noise.
A decade is 10 years, he only really arrived on the scene 5 years ago, where's the other 15 years coming from?
Your maths is as bad as mine - a decade and a half is 15 years, so I added 10 not 15.
some MAGA chud named "freedomadvocate" being a transphobe. how surprising.
In case anyone was wondering I did some web searches and this “groping” stuff is basically made up by anti-trans activists as far as I can tell. So I’m not sure if this person is one of them or just parroting their smear unknowingly, but they can be safely ignored.
"most people"? Citation needed
you want a citation on the opinion that most people are sick of an actor who is in a lot of movies and TV shows lately?
Do you want this peer reviewed or is just regular polling ok :P
You wanna be clerk? Mark me up as not sick of him
ok found this
https://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/entertainmentnews/pedro-pascals-sudden-downfall-follows-a-pattern-but-this-time-its-different/ar-AA1JDpL4
but i couldn’t give a shit i just think it’s funny you’re asking for a citation on an opinion
I didn’t ask for a citation.
Boy so you just didn't read that article at all, didja?
i did? what is your question :D I can get AI to summarise it for you?
Ah perhaps I was unclear: I am perplexed by your decision to use that article as support for your position, even more so given the recent revelation that you read and (presumably) understood it. It seems rather self-contradictory, given the content of the article is a fairly scathing indictment of the very concept of the "backlash phase".
yes but it implies that such a thing exists and it’s because people are tired of him
it’s certainly not some jk rowling bogieman
Okay sure, let me clarify again: An article which is extremely supportive of Pedro Pascal is a comedically bad choice to go with when you're attempting to establish the legitimacy of the claim that "most people" are sick of him (which remember, was the initial position taken which people are arguing against).
oh, i literally did one 30 second search, im sure if you try to do a search on the topic you will find something more
how the did i end up 4 comments deep on a topic about a fuckin american celebrity, what am i doing with my life
Classic motte and bailey argument you're up against here.
Well I can say with confidence that most people are not sick of him
Here’s your source pleb
You really need a citation for that? In a topic asking why there's so much hate towards him? You need a citation for me answering the question? Did you ask OP for a citation? Are you asking every person who replies in here for citations?
If you were answering from your own personal perspective, no I wouldn't ask for citations. But you pretty specifically answered on behalf of more than 50% of people, so I was wondering where you pulled that fact from.
Take your meds
I think those only come in LD50s
Like when the public was overwhelmingly opposed to the ideology that blacks and whites should be in the same public spaces, right? Or that they should be allowed to marry? Or that women should get to vote?
Idk man, it seems like majority opinion shouldn’t be considered when talking about people’s rights. We should all have the same rights.
This is news to me, what's he been saying?
No news here, just the usual bigoted "I dislike a thing, so I assume everyone else quietly agrees with me and is too afraid to speak out against the woke mob" bullshit that racists, sexists, homophobes, and (in this case) transphobes have been using for decades.
Well yeah obviously but I wanted them to say that. Hoping for a confession here.
pedro has a trans family member and he advocates for trans rights. the OP is mistaking being pro trans rights with the more muddied waters around trans athletes in competitive sports. hilariously if they knew anything about m2f trans population and how biochemistry works they'd quickly realize the estrogen these individuals take rapidly normalizes them to their gender's average in performance.
Is there anything being "shoved down your throat"? Maybe some kind of "agenda" or specific groups of people?
OP have MWAM Syndrome, Must Watch All Movie so the appearance of Pedro Pascal in a lot of movie is a torturous experience. 1 out of 10 American suffer from this syndrome and it's not a joke.
agreed, unfortunately the OP is.
You know you do that have to watch the stuff he's in, right? If you're sick of him then stop paying attention to him and letting him live in your head. And as for the anxiety thing, kind of a dick move to just assume someone's a creep just because physical touch helps with their anxiety. As someone that had anxiety, I may not relate one-to-one but I definitely get it.
