Regarding spoilers; Please put "(Spoilers)" in the title of your post if you anticipate spoilers, as we do not currently have a spoiler tag available. If your post contains an image that could be considered a spoiler, please mark the thread as NSFW so the image gets blurred. As far as how long to wait until the post is no longer a spoiler, please just use your best judgement. Everyone has a different idea on this, so we don't want to make any hard limits.
Please use spoiler tags whenever commenting a spoiler in a non-spoiler thread. Most of the Lemmy clients don't support this but we want to get into the habit as clients will be supporting in the future.

Why do they keep making them? People watch them. Rebirth has passed $800m at the box office.
Why do people watch them? IDK, dinosaurs are cool? I agree it was a bad, unoriginal film. I still watched it and apparently you did too. I knew it would be bad and watched it anyway because I know I like a cheesy, "bad" film on occasion. Why did you watch it?
And it was supposed to be a "soft reboot" of the franchise, so viewers can forget about the one about grasshoppers instead of dinosaurs. So maybe that was supposed to be the "Rebirth" of it all.
that's not what i asked, I understand why they keep making them.
also not what i asked. I agree dinosaurs are cool.
why does it matter? I thought it had a chance of being good. Now that I know it's bad I will not watch it again.
edit: lol, out here on a high horse having a conversation with yourself, and you downvote me for calling you out on it.
Just seeing this now. I didn't downvote you, bud. My instance has downvotes disabled. Get outta your reddit mindset, I was trying to drive conversation!
I was driving at "well, you watched it? Why? And why would they anything differently if folks like you and I keep watching them?"
But all good, I'll tag your username so I don't reply to your posts in the future and you don't have to be concerned about my non-existent downvotes that don't mean anything on Lemmy anyway.
yeah, you were driving at a conversation has been had many times before and has no bearing on my post. we all know hollywood is all about the money, let’s move on.
the question here is, is Jurassic Park the worst of them all? and your post did not contribute to that conversation at all.
and yes, votes mean something, otherwise they wouldn’t exist. they affect the visibility of posts, which is why i downvote low effort and off topic comments such as yours.
Too bad for you I'm on an instance that disables downvotes. Can't give 'em, can't see 'em.
Somebody call the whambulance, sheesh. Relax. They asked some rhetorical questions as part of their comment. No need to get so upset and defensive about it all.
I was taught if you don't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all.
their entire comment was a rhetorical strawman against my complaints about the movie.
I don't think it was a straw man because they weren't making an argument. Not every post replying to you is an argument. I think that's the problem. You viewed it as an attack. It was conversation.
