I had to have Google translate, and still don't. Adding to the confusion was the fact it said it was translating English to English.

It helps that my native language is German and Yiddish reads like someone with a very heavy accent writing everything like they pronounce it.

One of my favorite things is showing Germans Yiddish music with subtitles (usually in Hebrew script) and watching the confusion on their faces as they understand most of what's going on in what appears to be a language they cannot read.
