It isn't about stopping crime. He planned to have the military there a long time ago and just found this half-assed excuse to finally do it.

What he is increasingly worried about is a revolt.

Oh, gee. I wonder why?

This is a wild escalation. Wonder if the fascist party is trying to push for a revolt; I don't know many Dems/Liberal/decent people who are capable of a violent revolution, but the fascists are frothing at the mouth for it.

It sounds like its going to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Bring in military to quell violence, military disregards the rights of the citizens, citizens revolt, then the spray-tan-in-chief can say "look! Criminals!" And continue deploying troops
