Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

MODERATORS

Hey all! A male supporter has offered to open a community called WomensStuffSupporters that all genders can reply to. That gives men somewhere to show support that isn't here and also make here easier to moderate.

There's the option to X post from one to another, which is wouldn't want to happen automatically as some people wouldn't like that.

What do you all think of the idea? I'll leave this post up for a while before a decision is made.

Edit: you can message me if you don't want to say publicly. I won't let people know you contacted me, I'd just potentially say someone messaged saying they did/didn't want it

I genuinely do not trust "feminist" men. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many experiences to the contrary. Whether it was men taking over women's groups (not even maliciously, just men being men and assuming their voice is so important they have to be heard … ringing any bells in the mod team here?), or making it clear that they're really just there as a breeding strategy ("sensitive guys" get laid in feminist circles), etc.

Are there genuine feminist men? Yes. Are there even some who respect women enough to let women speak? Sure! But there's enough of those who aren't that I have to keep alert. Which makes "women's spaces" that have men in them not that different from a plain old office spaces in terms of keeping a guard up.

Joss Whedon was considered a "feminist", just to be clear how bad it gets.
