Dunking on Liberals from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.
Dems keep working with trump to approve his picks, but what they won't accept is that if you sit down at a table with nazis, the only thing that's changed is the number of nazis at the table. @_cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Rules:
- No bigotry of any kind (except towards liberalism).
- No liberals (unless you are a masochist and enjoy the abuse).
- Strictly no downvoting (downvoters may be community banned, 4 the lulz).
- Bernie Sanders is still a liberal.
- This is a genAI friendly instance, so no complaining about genAI content.
We allow posts about liberal behavior even off fedi, shitposts, and rational, leftist discussion.

Holy fuck, same. Honestly for the longest time i felt it was just me, basic leftist positions o would get downvoted to hell.
It's a shame, i wish we had more anarchist instances on lemmy. That's why i love dbzer0 and stick to it, but it can feel numbered and small sometimes.
I’ve completed turned off vote counts because of this. I just scroll lemmy with votes hidden now. I have to say it’s a very different way to approach social media. Can’t tell if I’ll stick to it but interesting experiment.
I've tired tried that before :) i get heavy FOMO though, and always turn it back on, though. Even just displaying the total votes and hiding the downvotes/upvotes is FOMO to me lol.
I guess it's easier for a blåhaj user, though
Yeah very fair. I have that a bit aswell. It kinda feels like I’m yelling into a void when I don’t get the vote feedback.
Slowly trying to find a way to use lemmy that doesn’t get me stuck in a debate with a lib or a tankie every second comment …
I ""solved"" it, but only by trying to ignore politics altogether; obviously doesn't work much, since I like talking about politics :/
At least the (albeit brief) discussions on dbzer0 i have are sane, like the one we're having now without anybody ruining it immediately xd But as i said, they're always brief, and the communities are too small.
I hope our political/news communities expand more one day, or another anarchist instance gets spinned up :D
Glad you’ve worked it out. I should take inspiration:)
I don't think it's .world users. It's the red fasch. Try posting progressive/leftist comments in an .ml thread and get pounced on by people screeching about how their brand of imperialist, hyper masculine fashion, rugged indvividualist authoritarianism is acktually the best kind of communism.
Why not both ¯\_0_/¯ I've learned not to poke either anymore, but in this case we're talking about LW; and they are incredibly hard to talk to about socialism/anti-imperialism. Usually you immediately get shut down by their already assumed prejudices/opinions of them.
I'd normally not mind much, but since they're the huge majority, so you have almost no choice but to discuss politics with them, specifically. At least with ML i can just avoid it easily (ymmv)
I do, I do. I don't want to poke the hornet's nest or argue for no reason. It can be hard to log off sometimes when something so incredibly hypocritical gets posted.
Lol same. I try to not comment under political posts on lemmy, but sometimes i see something so hypocritical/blatantly wrong i just can't help it at all, i have to stir shit 😔
In my experience with dealing with authoritarian or state communists, they act like their communism is the only communism. They believe that state violence is necessary to achieve freedom and equality, among other things, and that anybody who believes different is naive.
Yeah, new deal with chinese characteristics/gottasuckstalinsdicksohardimsafefromthepurges is cringe, but they've been pretty stable. The libs are changing.
