To be honest if you cut onions and don't wash your hands soon or immediately after, this happens.

Source: made a fajita mix last week and was haunted by a "rotting meat" smell. Turns out it was my onion hands.

Hydrogen peroxide will (temporarily) turn your skin white, but should get rid of the onion smell.
