Before I want to see it. Does the play maintain the fact that Luigi is only alleged at this point? Or do they just assume he did the adjusting?
Luigi Mangione probably is some random patsy the state chose. But he might represent in the play the real killer, whose identity we'll probably never know.
They could have called his character John Doe but this is entertainment, not reality.
The way you worded this it sounds like you're speculating? Do you know the play and how it represents it?
Your explanation could work as well as there are other ways I could see it represented fairly, but what does the play actually do?
In a related article they mention the play is a few prisoners including Luigi reflecting on their crimes in a comical absurdist manner. The play assumes Luigi is guilty, which is a false assumption as he is literally not.
